Reports say the pause order by the US on all weapons to Ukraine, including those in transit, will hold until the country's leaders ‘show a good faith commitment to peace’
March 4, 2025 - US President Donald Trump yesterday put a hold on all current military aid to Ukraine following the February 28, 2025, public spat in the White House between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump has said that the pause order will hold until the Ukranian leaders “show a good faith commitment to peace”, according to reports
According to a White House personnel, “President has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution.”
This pause order will also put a halt on all weapons that are in transit via sea or air to Ukraine or at transit areas in Poland.
Zelensky was recently in the US to sign a minerals deal but that fell through after the White House meeting. The Ukraine President had asked for guarantee from the US against future Russian invasion. This led to a flare up among the leaders with Trump charging him with “gambling with World War 3” and US Vice-President JD Vance publicly calling him “ungrateful”.
Zelensky had apparently ruffled feathers by remarking that the end of war with Russia is “very, very far away”
In a post on social media, Trump slammed the leader for this comment saying, “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer!”
