Mewari turban has become a favourite head gear for a lot of people. It has adorned the head of Prime Minister, actors, cricketers and many celebrities. Now it is the turn of devotees who are choosing Mewari turban for their deities.

One such incident has come to light where devotees have decided to take the Mewari turban to Mahakaal temple in Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh. A 250 metre long turban locally referred to as “paag” will be placed after following certain rituals on Mahakaal’s head. The ceremony will be held at 7 a.m. on 21st July. 6 members of Jain community will carry this “paag” to Ujjain on Thursday i.e. today.

The main attractions in this “paag” are “OM”, peacock, sun and moon, a trident and “pachevdi”. The turban is red in colour and it has been prepared by Jaiprakash Sen who has prepared turbans for PM Modi, Actor Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar and a number of other celebrities.
