News on the festive day of Holi, unfortunately, is never complete without its share of accidents or deaths - the festival of colours loses its charm when the day ends with even a single bad news.

Two friends, in their fervent celebrations, drowned at Lake Pichhola today afternoon, as confirmed by the police. The two friends, Vishal Saini from Jaipur and Bhupendra Meghwal s/o Dhanraj meghwal resident of savina area Udaipur, were celebrating Holi with their group on the banks of Pichhola, when the accident took place.

On receiving the news of this accident, police teams from Ambamata and Ghantaghar reached the spot near Chandpol bridge. Chhotu Bhai Hela, a diver and a team from the Civil Defence joined hands to retrieve the two bodies. As per initial reports, both the friends entered the water without being aware of the depth of the water. Bodies were shifted to the mortuary and the families have been informed.
