Two gets 20 years of jail for abduction and gang rape of a minor girl

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Court-1 on Friday awarded two persons for abduction and gang rape of a 15 year old girl here at Ogna police station of Udaipur around 2 years back. The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 20000 on each of the two convicts.

The incident came to light when mother of the victim girl filled a complaint at the Ogna police station of the district claiming that her minor daughter was being abducted and gang raped by a duo of accused.

The accused who are in their early twenties had tempted the girl to get on their motor cycle while she was going to the house of one her relative on 6th May 2022.But when the minor girl denied from taking lift from them and rushed towards her relative's house they followed her on their motorcycle, caught her and forcibly took her to the nearby jungle where they both raped her.

The Special Public Prosecutor Chetan Puri Goswami said that during the trail more than 20 witnesses were heard and more than 35 documents were exhibited in the court, the court examined all the witnesses and documents on the basis of which the court held both the accused guilty and the honorable judge of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO ) Court No.1 Bhupendra Sanadiaya pronounced his verdict and awarded the accused with 25 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also slapped them with a fine of Rs.20000 each convict.
