March 23, 2026 - Two more Indian-flagged vessels with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are reportedly making their way through the Strait of Hormuz and are likely to be headed to India. The Jag Vasant and Pine Gas travelled northwards from UAE’s Sharjah port towards Iran’s Qeshm and Larak islands, according to ship-tracking data.

A complete transit through the Strait of Hormuz can take up to 14 hours. Jag Vasant and Pine Gas are likely to reach the other side of the strait in the Gulf of Oman by Monday evening if they continue unhindered.

The ships had been held back for several days because of the volatile situation in the region and intense shelling over the waters.

The safe passage of these two ships will follow the arrival of three other Indian-flagged vessels to India in recent days. Earlier, MT Shivalik and MT Nanda Devi (carrying a total of 92,712 metric tonnes of LPG) and Jag Laadki (with 80,886 metric tonnes of crude) safely arrived in India after crossing through the conflicted Strait after permission from Iran following diplomatic talks between the two countries.
