UAE Rejects Reports of Rs 23 Lakh Golden Visa for 'Certain Nationalities'
UAE's Federal Authority warns of fraudulent schemes; advises checking details of official information on the Authority's website
July 9, 2025 – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has dismissed claims that there is a change in its Golden Visa rules and that it is offering lifetime visas to Indian and Bangladeshi at AED 1,00,000. This denial has come following media reports that have recently gone viral suggesting that certain eligible categories of Indians and Bangladeshis could purchase the UAE Golden Visa at approximately Rs 23 lakh.
According to the Emirates News Agency WAM, UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has denied these rumours for lifetime eligibility for "certain nationalities." ICP said that visa applications are handled exclusively through government channels and not external consultancy agencies and that applicants should rely on verified channels for visa-related news.
It has urged the public not to fall prey to fraudulent schemes.
"No internal or external consultancy entity is recognised as an authorised party in the application process," the ICP said warning of legal measures against those indulging in rumours to illegally collect money from individuals wishing to reside in the UAE.
ICP has explained that the categories, conditions, and regulations of the Golden Visa are clearly outlined in accordance with official laws, legislations and ministerial decisions. And that those interested in the details can find the official information on the Authority's website or smart application.
While there is confusion yet regarding the Golden Visa, what however is clear that by paying Rs 23 lakh one will not become eligible for a UAE lifetime visa. It will not be as simple as that.
