Clear Stand by Sangharsh Samiti
The committee emphasized that if a new division bench or virtual bench is to be set up in Rajasthan, Udaipur must be the first choice. Until there is a firm assurance from the government, the agitation will continue.
It was also decided that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Banswara on September 25, pressure will be built to allow advocates to meet him and put forward their demand.
A 44-Year-Old Demand
The demand for a High Court Bench in the Mewar-Wagad region has been pending for 44 years. The committee pointed out that while states like Maharashtra already have five benches, the tribal population of Udaipur is still waiting for easier access to justice.
The Sangharsh Samiti called on the government to take concrete steps and finally establish a High Court division bench in Udaipur.
