Drivers traveling on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad road, located on Balicha Highway in Udaipur, can now experience relief from the heavy traffic jam. The construction of a new bridge on this route has been completed, and as of Thursday, 20 July 2023, in the afternoon, the bridge has been fully opened for vehicles heading towards Ahmedabad. The inauguration of the bridge took place in the presence of officials from the Goverdhan Vilas police station. With the bridge now operational, vehicles can pass through smoothly, alleviating the congestion and providing a smoother commute for travelers.

After nearly a year of construction, the bridge near Amargarh Hotel on the highway is almost completed. This development is set to significantly improve the commuting experience for vehicles traveling towards Ahmedabad. Prior to the bridge's completion, vehicles had to take an alternative route, leading to traffic congestion and jams in the area.

Over the past few months, the situation prior to the construction of the bridge was dire, with a daily occurrence of severe traffic jams stretching approximately 8 to 10 kilometers in length. The highway from Amargarh Hotel to Savina Pulia witnessed long queues of heavy vehicles, causing significant frustration and inconvenience to commuters. People had to endure hours of waiting in the jams, leading to growing agitation and distress. Moreover, in critical situations, such as medical emergencies, the traffic congestion posed a considerable challenge in transporting patients to hospitals promptly.

The police force of Goverdhan Vilas police station worked diligently to manage the traffic jam on the highway day and night. The station officer, in particular, had to stand for extended periods, making continuous efforts to alleviate the congestion and open up the blocked route. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the former Collector visited Balicha Highway multiple times to assess the extent of the problem and explore potential solutions.
