Udaipur airport Director honoured for safe emergency landing of AI flight.
Air India flight going from Rajkot to Delhi on 2nd October, 2018 made an emergency landing at Udaipur airport. It may be noted that there were reports of smoke in the cargo hold of flight AI- 496. The Airport Director Kuldeep Singh Rishi has been honoured for quick action and for executing safety arrangements without losing time.
Pilot of AI-496 noticed a smoke-warning light for the cargo hold of the aircraft. Since the flight was close to Udaipur airport, the pilot asked for an emergency landing here at 8:10 p.m. Udaipur airport provided emergency landing to AI-496. The situation was handled very efficiently by emergency staff and fire staff. The aircraft had 123 passengers on board who were all taken out safely along with baggage load.

The aircraft stayed at Udaipur airport for about 3 hours and after a good check and repair, the flight took off from Udaipur for Delhi at 11:12 p.m. Airport Director took control of the situation and arranged for the safety of the passengers and the aircraft.
