Air passenger traffic at Maharana Pratap Airport witnessed a significant surge in the first half of this year, surpassing the numbers recorded during the same period last year. The current year's data set a new record, highlighting the enhanced air connectivity at the airport. According to the recent data published by the Udaipur airport administration, it has been disclosed that between January and June of this year, a total of 7,67,313 passengers traveled. In comparison, during the same period in the previous year of 2022, approximately 5,15,310 passengers traveled by air. This signifies a notable increase of approximately 2,52,003 passengers.

From a tourism perspective, it is indeed a reassuring development that the airport has consistently witnessed passenger loads exceeding one lakh for the past nine months. Although there was a decline in passenger numbers during certain years of the COVID-19 period, this year has witnessed a significant surge in the maximum number of travelers. The recent trend of a large number of air passengers flying from Udaipur to Delhi over the past two months highlights people's eagerness to explore various tourist destinations. This is primarily due to the fact that many tourists from Udaipur and its surrounding regions opt for connecting flights from Delhi airport to popular tourist spots such as Jammu and Kashmir, Leh and Ladakh, Kedarnath, Shimla, Nainital, and more.

Regarding aircraft movement at Udaipur airport, there were 6,557 flights recorded between January and June of the current year, compared to 4,644 flights during the same period in 2022. This represents a notable increase of 1,913 flights. Presently, the airport facilitates 16 flights to major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal, Indore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad.

Currently, the daily passenger count is approximately 3,000, reflecting a steady flow of travelers. Although there were plans to initiate flights to Rajkot and Surat from July onwards, they were unfortunately unable to commence due to undisclosed reasons. However, it is anticipated that additional flights will be included in the winter schedule starting from October.
