A sewage leakage near Amar Kund in Lake Pichola is causing the water to turn yellow. This alarming situation has raised concerns among local residents and lake enthusiasts.
Tejshankar Paliwal, a lake lover, reported the issue to the Smart City and the Pollution Control Board. He expressed his worries about the water quality in the lake.
In response to the complaint, Aastha Sharma, an officer from the Pollution Control Board, visited the site with her team. They collected water samples from Amar Kund for analysis.
The collected samples revealed yellow water, indicating contamination. Paliwal noted that new water has flowed into Lake Pichola after recent rains. He suggested that the yellow colour may be a result of leakage from the sewage line.
Authorities are now investigating the matter to address the pollution issue in Lake Pichola.
