The Udaipur Municipal Corporation's ongoing efforts to tackle illegal encroachments in the city saw another day of action on Friday, February 1, 2024. The corporation's anti-encroachment team, with the support of local police, carried out a drive from Malla Talai to Rampura intersection.

During the operation, the team targeted illegal structures outside shops along the main road. Using a crane, they demolished and removed unauthorized cabins, carts, boards, and even solid flooring that had been constructed outside the shops. The materials removed in the process were also confiscated by the team.

The drive faced opposition from local traders, who protested the action. They claimed that the municipal corporation was focusing on small traders while ignoring the encroachments by more influential and powerful businesspeople.
