More than 20 well known artists including painters and sculptors gathered at Takhman-28 art gallery today to pay their tribute to Late Hussain.
M.F. Hussain was one of the protuberant artists of country. He took his last breath in London. He was one of the best artists who has created number of masterpieces in his paintings in his 95 years’ life span.
Though he had not taken any apposite training for his work, he started his painting vocation with film posters. His death is considered to be a huge loss to society and art industry.
Today at Takhman – 28 artists of Udaipur observed 2 min silence and prayed for his soul.
A.L. Damani (Artist & Architect) said “Human beings were important for Hussain, his colours and his art will be remembered for years to come.”
Dr. Sheal Choyal (a renounced artist of city) said “His Art was is and will be a muse for all the age groups. Hussain was a revolution for art field despite of his weak financial circumstantial in early days.”
Basant Kashyap (HOD of Painting at M.G College) said “People in India recognized contemporary art by the work of M.F. Hussain; he was a soul of Art”
Abbas Batliwala (A businessmen and painter) said “We all know what he was capable of, but a thing that pinched was that great soul failed to be in his mother country in his last time”
M.F Hussain was on self imposed exile, living in Qatar and U.K. He died due to age related ailments from last few months.
The last rites of Hussain would be performed in London Today.
