Udaipur Bird Festival 2024

The opening of the 10th Udaipur Bird Festival 2024 happened on Friday, January 12,2024 at Kalka Mata Nursery near Pichola's shores and in Golden Park. The main guests were Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain. Special guests included Regional Commissioner Rajendra Bhatt, Chief Forest Conservator R.K. Singh, R.K. Jain, and social worker Ravindra Shrimalli. 

MLA Jain mentioned that Udaipur is lucky to have nature's special blessings. It is well-known worldwide for its beautiful natural scenery, especially its lakes. The surroundings here are incredibly lovely, and it's our responsibility to protect and do everything we can to keep it safe. Many lakes around here attract birds from different places, and it is crucial to educate the younger generation about them. Commissioner Bhatt appreciated the Forest Department for arranging this event and emphasized that such gatherings are necessary to keep nature in balance. 

He talked to kids from different schools about why it is important to take care of nature. He encouraged young people to join events like these and be friends of the environment. Chief Forest Conservator Singh greeted the guests and shared news about the Forest Department's activities and new things happening in the city. Chief Forest Conservator Jain explained the Udaipur Bird Festival in simple terms and shared the department's successes. 

Around 1500 students and nature lovers, including important guests, joined in bird watching. Students from different schools painted pictures of birds and their life cycles in a competition to promote environmental conservation. MLA Jain led a pledge about being friends of wetlands and protecting the environment. Guests unveiled a special booklet about the event and a guidebook for identifying birds. MLA Jain and Regional Commissioner even got temporary bird tattoos on their hands.
