Udaipur Collector, Anandi, has imposed a ban on sale and usage of “Chinese thread” for kite-flying till 28-February.

Collector said that these threads pose a danger to 2 wheeler drivers and birds. Also because these threads are conductors of electricity, they pose a danger to the kite flyer and also may hamper electricity supply.

Considering the potential dangers of “Chinese thread” for kite-flying, Collector has invoked section 144 and imposed a prohibitory order on sale and usage of these glass/metal laced threads.
