On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, villagers reached the Collectorate regarding the deforestation of hills at the backwater area of Udaisagar, near the forests of Lakadwas. They demanded action against deforestation. District Collector Arvind Kumar Poswal proposed the formation of a committee comprising villagers to monitor and safeguard the hills.
He suspended the Gram Development Officer who had initiated legal proceedings against the villagers. He directed the concerned Block Development Officer to conduct a thorough investigation into the conduct of the Gram Development Officer.
