40 COVID positive cases in the first half today marks the beginning of another worrying day for the district adminstration and health department. The cumulative COVID mark for Udaipur has reached near the 1300 mark and nearly 300 patients are active COVID patients, which is nearly 25% of the total positive cases.

A departmental employee at the Zila Parishad Udaipur was also tested COVID positive today, following which the administration sealed off the Zila Parishad office.

The Zila Parishad office is alongside the Collectorate premises that houses most of the administrative offices, including the office of the District Collector, the Superintendent of Police, the CID, Cyber Crime, iStart, etc and is a perpetually crowded zone.

Of the 40 cases today, 30 are close contact of existing COVID patients. 24 COVID positive cases today have come from within the municipal area, which includes 12 from Bhupalwadi near Delhi Gate 3 from Titardi. 3 from Hiran Magri and one each from Badgaon, Manvakheda, Zila Parishad office, Manvakheda and Kishenpol. A nursing staff from MB Hospital and a laboratory assistant from the government clinic in Bhupalpura have taken the count for positive cases in the city to 24. The remaining 16 are spread out across Salumber, Mavli and Sarada. The highest number of cases in rural area is 9 from Bhinder.
