Udaipur Crime News: ACB Udaipur Arrests Middleman Red Handed, Taking Rs 2 Crore Bribe
UdaipurTimes, 27 September 2026 | Udaipur Local News, ACB, Crime Update: The Udaipur Anti Corruption Bureau team has arrested an accused middleman while taking a bribe of Rs 2 Crore, on Saturday, September 26.
The name of the person arrested is Sajjan Singh and he is accused of being the middleman of SOG Addl SP Mukesh Kumar Soni, as per ACB Director General Govind Gupta.
Details of the Complaint
The Director General explained that the ACB Udaipur Intelligence Unit received a complaint on September 23. The complainant accused that a SOG officer was demanding a bribe of Rs 2 Crore from one of the arrested accused in the infamous 272 UMC land scam matter. Additionally, the accused was also promised that the documents secured by the police in the above mentioned matter would also be returned to the accused, since the documents have yet not been seized as proof. As per the complaint, the bribe was being demanded by SOG Addl SP Mukesh Kumar Soni, to be received through his middleman, Sajjan Singh.
The ACB acted on this information and secured the fact that bribe was being demanded. A trap was laid on Saturday, 26 September and the middleman Sajjan Singh was arrested at the factory of the complainant, where he was caught red handed, while accepting the bribe. Further, the ACB has also detained SOG Addl SP Mukesh Kumar Soni to investigate his role in the entire matter. As per information received from the ACB, the accused officer is also being interrogated.
ACB Team
The entire trap operation was carried out by the ACB Udaipur team supervised by ACB Udaipur Range DIG Dr Rameshwar Singh and Addl SP Gopalswaroop Mewara. The Dy SP of the Udaipur ACB Intelligence Unit, Dr. Sonu Shekhawat led the team that executed the operation included Asst Administrative Officer Dalpat Singh, Assitant Sub Inspector Munir Mohammad, Constable Ajay Kumar along with additional police personnel.
Further investigations are being carried out by the ACB team under the supervision of Addl DG Smita Srivastava, under Section 7 and 7a of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 61(2) of the BNSS.
