High Court orders strict action against illegal parking in Udaipur. Clearing unused vehicles and verifying affidavits can help improve traffic flow in the city.
Udaipur, December 26,2024 - The Udaipur Municipal Corporation is facing challenges in clearing roads of unused vehicles and managing false affidavits submitted for parking spaces. Despite recent efforts, 80% of vehicle owners with false affidavits still park their four-wheelers on the streets, causing traffic issues.
Junk Vehicles Being Removed
The Municipal Corporation has started removing unused and junk vehicles from the city’s roads. This action has stirred vehicle owners to clear some areas. However, many vehicles remain parked illegally, leading to daily traffic congestion.
Parking Spaces Used for Commercial Activities
Many building owners in Udaipur misuse basement parking spaces by running illegal commercial activities. These owners submitted false affidavits promising parking provisions but have failed to comply. The Corporation has identified several such cases, but influential individuals are making enforcement difficult.
Increasing Vehicle Ownership
In Udaipur, every third family owns a four-wheeler. With no space for parking at home, vehicles are left on the streets, turning roads into parking lots.
High Court Orders on Parking
However, lack of on-site verification has allowed vehicle owners to bypass these rules.
