Udaipur's Cyclists Pedal for Swachh Bharat

Udaipur, January 21, 2025 - With the aim of realising the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Clean India, Healthy India, two cyclists of Udaipur, Akbar Ali Bandookwala and Rishabh Jain, have undertaken a landmark cycling mission from India Gate in New Delhi to Gateway of India in Mumbai to spread the message of cleanliness across the country. The duo took off on their journey yesterday, January 20, from India Gate in Delhi.

Akbar Ali Bandookwala and Rishabh Jain, who are currently residing in China, want to spread public awareness on the subject of Swachh Bharat - One Step towards Cleanliness.

Tomorrow, January 22, they will pass through Bhilwara and reach Kherwada. In Udaipur, they will be felicitated at the Delhi Public School. They will then depart for Nadiad, Gujarat, on January 23. The entire journey, covering 1,447 kilometers, will conclude on January 26 at the Gateway of India in Mumbai.

To encourage the two cyclists and their noble vision, Rishabh Tanwar, Judicial Magistrate First of Tis Hazari Court, New Delhi, visited India Gate to wish them luck.

Later, a flag-off ceremony was held at a Bazibin Park in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, during which Jagmohan Mahalawat, Vasant Kunj Ward Councillor, and Dharamvir Singh, Rama Krishna Puram Ward Councillor, South Delhi, wished both the cyclists. On the occasion, Rakesh Kothari announced he would also start a drug-free campaign for school children from March and the first prize of the competition will be a bicycle given to the children so that they can avoid addictions and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Later, a flag-off ceremony was held at a park in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, which was attended by several prominent names in the cycling world including Dharamveer Singh, Hriday Raina, Gaurav Vadhwa, president, Delhi Bike Club, Pooja Kothari.
