Udaipur to develop tourism master plan
Udaipur’s District Collector Arvind Kumar Poswal has directed the Municipal Corporation and the Tourism Department to actively promote the proposed Heritage Walk for tourists. In addition, a proposal has been initiated to develop a Tourism Master Plan and an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Traffic Management System for Udaipur.
Heritage Walk Aims
The Heritage Walk is designed to help visitors connect with the city's rich historical and cultural heritage. However, due to a lack of awareness, tourists have been unable to fully engage with it. To address this, Mr. Poswal has instructed officials to increase promotion through hoardings and other means.
Tourism Master Plan
Deputy Director of Tourism Department, Shikha Saxena, emphasized the importance of the Tourism Master Plan, stating that Udaipur would be the first district in Rajasthan to implement such a plan if approved. A private firm presented the need for the Master Plan, and a documentary on the AI-based Traffic Management System was also showcased. The District Collector has instructed officials to identify a location in the city for a pilot project to implement the AI-based traffic system.
