After heavy rains, roads in many districts across the state are in poor condition. In response, the state government has approved 84 projects focused on road strengthening and bridge construction under the revised budget for the year 2024-25. The total funding for these projects amounts to Rs 1,725.73 crore, and the tender process will begin shortly.
In the Udaipur division, 15 projects have received approvals totaling over Rs 501 crore. Notably, in the Gogunda assembly constituency, Rs 30 crore has been allocated for the construction of roads and a culvert. This includes projects from Kyari to Sai Kalan, a culvert on the Sirwal River, and the road from Shivadiya to Piparmal.
In Salumber district, Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of 5.5 kilometers on the Salumber Bypass State Highway 32. This extends from 69 km to SH-53 at Eserwas and from 83 km to 78 km at Devgaon on SH-32. Additionally, Rs 25 crore has been approved for strengthening and widening the road from Salumber (Baroda) to Semari and from Sarada (Pandher Kui) to Salumber.
Other districts have also seen significant approvals. In Chittorgarh district, six projects amounting to Rs 320.71 crore have been greenlit. Bhilwara received approval for four projects totaling Rs 48 crore, while Rajsamand has two projects amounting to Rs 68 crore.
