The proposed elevated road in Udaipur, stretching 2.5 kilometers from City Station to Collector's Bungalow, has been approved with a budget of Rs 137 crore. On Wednesday, October 9,2024, the Municipal Corporation opened the financial bids and awarded the contract to Transrail Lighting Ltd, which submitted the lowest bid. This project aims to alleviate vehicle congestion for city residents.

The state government had previously allocated Rs 210 crore for the construction of this elevated road. If all goes as planned, the firm will receive a work order after Diwali, and construction will begin shortly thereafter.

Mayor Govind Singh Tank announced that a total of 12 firms from across the country submitted tenders for this project. All firms met the technical requirements, and the financial bids were reviewed on September 7. Transrail Lighting Limited's bid of Rs 137 crore was the lowest, while other bids reached up to Rs 167 crore.

The elevated road will be 12 meters wide and supported by a single pillar. The width will increase at the curves. There will be two 90-degree curves, where the road width will change according to Indian Roads Congress (IRC) standards. At Toran Bawli, there will be arch curves without any single pillars. Instead, a portal frame will support the road at these curved areas.
