Udaipur, January 8, 2025 - In the initial phase of the construction of the 2.5 km Elevated Road, the relevant project contractor has completed the testing of the ground to determine how much digging is required for the foundation's weight at each location. This was carried out on the stretch of land from the City Station to Udiapol for the proposed Rs 137-crore two-lane project from the station to the Collector's bungalow.

During testing, rocky ground was hit at a depth of 10 to 12 feet on the stretch. An old drain came up at Udiapol as well as sandy soil. Testing will continue up to the Collector's residence. Once this is complete, excavation work for the foundation will start followed by filling.

Even though the width of the proposed Elevated Road will be around that of three lane, it is referred to as a two-lane road and will be constructed using two beams and a portal frame, similar to the elevated roads in Jaipur and Delhi.
