The total COVID 19 positive cases in Udaipur as of close of day on 11 May was 182. The massive jump to yesterday's 133 happened early morning, when 46 positive cases were identified from the samples received.
However, as the day progressed, 406 sample reports were declared, out of which 3 positive cases were identified. All of them belong to the same hotbed of COVID in Udaipur, Surajpol and Dhanmandi police station areas. This was the report presented by CMHO, Dr Dinesh Kharade at 0045hrs on May 12.
Localities where positive cases of COVID19 have been identified include:
The 49 positive cases, most of which came in the late night hours of May 11 took the total case of Udaipur to 182. The reports during the day, seemed to have put a break on the number of positive cases, which is being seen as a relief - both for the health department as well as the administration. The immediate arrest of the spread of infection was warranted, before it ballooned into a community spread.
With another 5 days to go for the third phase of the pan India lockdown, Udaipur will have to sit tight till probably the end of the month and keep our fingers crossed hoping that this maiden blast remains the only one.
