Udaipur has experienced a significant influx of tourists this year, leading to congested areas throughout the city. The surge in tourism has resulted in heavy traffic and crowded tourist spots. To address these challenges, a strategic solution is in the works: the construction of an elevated road in the Fatehpura area of Udaipur. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance road safety. The proposed elevated road is slated to commence from Sukhadia Circle and extend up to Fatehpura T Point. From this juncture, the road will bifurcate, with one route descending directly to Syphon and the other leading towards Pula. In addition to the elevated road, a dedicated underpass is planned to facilitate the smooth movement of traffic from Fateh Sagar to Pula. This design approach ensures that traffic bound for Pula can seamlessly bypass the intersection by utilizing the underpass route.

The estimated cost for the construction of this approximately 2.6 km elevated road amounts to around Rs. 180 crore. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been meticulously prepared by the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT). Pending a successful progression, it is anticipated that tender invitations will be announced as early as the upcoming month. The Fatehpura road stands as one of the most bustling intersections in the city. This road witnesses a constant stream of urban residents and tourists heading towards key areas such as Fateh Sagar, Shobhagpura, Pula, Bedla, and Badagaon. Consequently, these routes frequently experience severe traffic congestion. According to the 2023 survey data, the Fatehpura area sees a daily influx of 66,415 vehicles, with 4,972 vehicles departing each hour.

In the Chief Minister's budget announcement for the year 2022-23, it was revealed that a project covering a total distance of 2.6 kilometers has been allocated a budget of Rs.180 crore. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this endeavor has been meticulously prepared, and it is anticipated that tenders will be officially issued in the upcoming month.

Commencing at Sukhadia Circle in Fatehpura, this project entails the creation of two distinct routes: one leading to Syphon Marg and the other to Pula Marg. To facilitate smoother traffic flow, an underpass will be constructed starting from the Fateh Sagar side and extending to Pulia Marg. This underpass will serve as a passage for vehicles, effectively diverting traffic from the Fatehpura intersection and allowing it to proceed as usual.
