Udaipur Honours Cyclists on Swachh Bharat Ride

Akbar Ali Bandookwala and Rishabh Jain, on a landmark cycling mission from India Gate to Gateway of India to spread the message of cleanliness across the country, arrived in Udaipur to a rousing welcome

Udaipur, January 23, 2025 – Udaipur cyclists Akbar Ali Bandookwala and Rishabh Jain, who have undertaken a landmark cycling mission from India Gate in New Delhi to Gateway of India in Mumbai to spread the message of cleanliness across the country, arrived in Udaipur yesterday. They were given a rousing reception by city residents at the Delhi Public School campus.

During the welcome ceremony held in the school auditorium, a large number of people, including social worker Govind Agarwal, ADM Dipendra Singh, Shyam S. Singhi, renowned architect Sunil S. Ladda plus representatives of the Dawoodi Bohra community such as Kausar Ali Kurabadwala, Shabbir Mustafa and Abbas Ali Bandookwala, felicitated the duo.

The cyclists expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and answered questions put forth by the school students who were present. They shared information about their journey, which was to spread the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat. They also emphasised the importance of fitness through the Fit India campaign.

The event was also attended by DPS Principal Sanjay Narwaria, vice-principal Rajesh Dhabai and members of the Udaipur Cycling Club.

The cyclists' journey of 1,447 kilometres will conclude on January 26 at the Gateway of India in Mumbai.
