Udaipur, May 20, 2024: Residents of Krishna Vihar Colony, located near the old Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Pratap Nagar, have been facing with  prolonged water crisis attributed to the negligence of the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA). The colony, comprising approximately 200 households accommodating around 5000 individuals, is now facing a critical situation.

According to local residents, the colony, established by the UIT in 2005, has faced frequent water scarcity despite the construction of two water tanks almost 19 years ago. Numerous complaints lodged with the UIT have failed to be recognised, leaving residents frustrated and waterless. Recent revelations indicate that the water sourced from six borewells drilled by the UIT in the colony is diverted to the Rakampura Housing Board Colony, increasing the water scarcity of Krishna Vihar residents.

With the situation escalating, residents are resorting to arranging water tankers to meet their daily needs. Expressing their discontent, they have issued a warning to the administration, emphasizing that unless immediate action is taken to address their problems, they will protest.
