SOG, investigating the land fraud involving the Municipal Corporation, arrest person said to be the main accused in case; probe reveals involvement of many others in the scam
Udaipur, December 16, 2024 - In the on-going investigation into the land scam case involving the Municipal Corporation, another person was sent to jail on December 14 after being presented in Court by the Special Operations Group (SOG). Rajendra Dhakad is accused of being involved in selling land with forged documents. Several fake documents were recovered from him during questioning.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Swati Sharma of the SOG informed that during the probe, it was revealed that Dhakad was involved in creating fake documents for plots transferred to the Municipal Corporation from the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) and thereafter, selling them for lakhs of rupees. Dhakad confessed that he had sold a plot to Anil Kachori for Rs 50 lakhs on the Power of Attorney of Kishan Gameti. Fake documents for this plot were recovered based on his information.
Dhakad is said to be the main accused in this scam. Earlier, Deepak Chauhan, Rakesh Solanki, and Kishan Gameti from the UIT Colony were arrested in this case.
ASP Sharma further said SOG is also investigating involvement of individuals Vikram Takdiya, Nitin Kothari, Vipin Kothari and a Municipal Corporation clerk.
The accused had allegedly prepared fake documents for plots transferred from UIT to the Municipal Corporation and sold them for lakhs of rupees.
It may be noted that this matter was initially raised by Municipal Corporation Councillor Ajay Porwal, after which Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, who was then the City MLA, had raised the issue in the State Assembly. Subsequently, this issue was again raised by City MLA Tarachand Jain, leading the State Government to assign the investigation to the SOG.
