Udaipur Lawyers protest over colleague's murder

In a strong protest led by the members of the BAR Association today, a few lawyers tried to force entry into the Collector’s bungalow and could only be controlled after police intervention.

Hundreds of lawyers boycotted work today to protest the killing of fellow advocate Arjun Parmar (32), who was killed by some unknown people on 19th April at his village near Kherwada. Arjun’s wife is still admitted in MB hospital as she was also one of the victims of the brutal attack.

Members of the BAR association made a human chain at Court Circle chanting slogans against the administration and the Police department for failing to trace the murderers of Arjun Parmar even after more than 24 hours have elapsed after the crime was committed.

Bharat Joshi, President, Bar Association Udaipur said “we want all involved peoples to be arrested soon; we have also given memorandum to District Collector to act upon matter”.

Rao Ratan Singh, Member, BAR Association, Udaipur said, “I, on behalf of the Bar Association want to warn authority that if the murderers are not put behind bars in 24 hours then all Advocates will be on strike”.

The murder took place on Thursday, 19th April at Vada Laxmanpura of Pahada (Kherwada Dist.). Arjun Lal Parmar was sleeping in his house, when few people entered in and attacked both husband and wife with sharp weapons. Arjun’s wife is also severely injured and is admitted to M.B. Hospital.
