Demanding the High Court Bench in Udaipur, lawyers of the city shunned every official work for the day and also led a protest at Udaipur’s court campus. Lawyers in Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara and Rajsamand also held protest and skipped from work in the support of lawyers protesting in Udaipur.

According to BAR association, they are demanding a High Court Bench in Udaipur from last 27 years. Manish Sharma, General Secretary of BAR association said, “Common public face serious problems in commuting to Jodhpur on every case date, if we get a high court bench in Udaipur then it will be very convenient for the people.” “Udaipur is rapidly expanding and there is a real need of high court bench in the region”, added Manish Sharma. The group of lawyers also expressed their anger on killings of lawyers in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh. They strongly condemned today’s blast in front of High Court in Delhi which has killed several people. The president of the association, Chandmal Sankhla and other members of the BAR association including Gautam Siroya, Shantilal Pamecha, Satyendra Singh Chabra, Kamlesgh Dhani and Bharat Vaishnav discussed on the issue of setting up high court bench in Udaipur.
