Students of Rabindra Nath Tagore (RNT) Medical College, Udaipur protested outside the collectorate today for the police action taken against the students of a medical college in Kanpur.
The incident occurred few days back at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College where many junior doctors were arrested by the police for alleged rioting.
The matter intensified all over the country as medical students and junior doctors in many cities started protesting and some also called for indefinite strike.
Brajesh Kumar Dhakar, president of RNT Medical College presented a memorandum to Udaipur administration in the name of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and demanded justice.
Medical students alleged that on 28th Feb, Police raided the hostel of G.S.V.M. Kanpur and arrested several students without charges. The police action came after some medical students allegedly assaulted MLA Irfan Solanki during a heated argument.
Students have demanded to release all detained students and asked to lodge FIR against Solanki. Dhakar also said, “We demand high level investigation against the police action that injured many students of G.S.V.M College, Kanpur.”
