Udaipur MLA Tarachand Jain once again visited the ongoing beautification work of the Ayad River on May 30,2024. During his visit, he expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of construction work. After walking 3 kms along the river, MLA Jain instructed that shade-giving plants be planted along the riverbanks to enhance the area's aesthetics.
Earlier, MLA Jain, accompanied by Smart City Project CEO Pradeep Singh Sangawat, visited the ongoing construction works in the river. Upon arrival, he raised concerns about the thickness of the 40 mm stones being used along the riverbanks. He emphasized the need to use 80 mm stones as per the specified standards.
Plastic Bags Found in River
MLA Jain also expressed his displeasure upon seeing plastic bags in the river passing through the Pulan area. He instructed the UDA to clean the river behind the Pulan area and directed the Municipal Corporation to clean the filth from the Gumaniya drain. Walking from Pulan to Krishnapura area, MLA Jain observed dry grass along the riverbanks and demanded an explanation from the officials responsible for the Smart City project.
Houses Built on the Riverbed
During the inspection, MLA Jain raised questions about the houses built on the riverbed. He instructed that the issued leases in the riverbed to be cancelled. He also tried to gather information from the officials about the existing houses. Unsatisfied with their responses, MLA Jain called the municipal corporation and Mayor GS Tank, directing them to cancel the leases issued in the riverbed.
