Udaipur Mourns to the death of BSF officer Tarun Gupta

After refusing to identify the body found from Seri River on Saturday evening, later, relatives of 39-year-old BSF’s Deputy Commander Tarun Gupta confirmed that the body was of Tarun, the Dy Commandant, who along with his driver and the jeep they were in, was swept into the flooded river at Rajouri district, while patrolling LoC on 27 July at 3am.

Udaipur Mourns to the death of BSF officer Tarun GuptaAfter refusing to identify the body found from Seri River on Saturday evening, later, relatives of 39-year-old BSF’s Deputy Commander Tarun Gupta confirmed that the body was of Tarun, the Dy Commandant, who along with his driver and the jeep they were in, was swept into the flooded river at Rajouri district, while patrolling LoC on 27 July at 3am.

The body of Tarun Gupta was completely soaked in water and was unrecognizable.

Hundreds of BSF and Army personnel carried out a joint operation to rescue the Commandant and his driver Sepoy Uday Kumar. Uday Kumar’s body was recovered on Friday and nearly after 24 hours, the rescue team found Tarun Gupta’s body.

Tarun Gupta’s last rites were observed at Jammu Kashmir where his mother and wife with other relatives are present. Some local media reported that the body of the slain soldier will brought to Udaipur but as per the information given by Hariprasad Gupta, the funeral ceremony took place at 2 PM today at Jammu.

It is a matter of great shock and loss to the family, friends and colleagues of the Late Tarun Gupta who was known to be very gracious, courageous and intelligent.

Tarun Gupta’s characteristics have been assumed by several comments posted on his facebook profile by friends and close ones as a condolence.

Known as ‘Battu’ by his batch mates, Deputy Commandant Tarun Gupta was serving the nation in the Border Security Force’s Intelligence Cell.

Not only BSF, Indian Army and batch mates of Tarun Gupta but every Udaipurite and Indian who came to know about this is mourning for the big loss.
