Old City Traffic Problem

Residents of the area around Moti Chohatta and Ghantaghar can breathe a sigh of relief as new traffic regulations come into effect. Starting from May 1, 2024, vehicles will no longer be permitted to park between these two points. Police enforcement will ensure compliance, with confiscated vehicles as the penalty. This measure aims to alleviate traffic congestion and provide smoother traffic flow, especially for visitors to key areas like Jagdish Chowk and other crowded parts of the Wallcity.

Traffic Police Crackdown on Unauthorized Parking

On April 29, the traffic police initiated a crackdown on unauthorized parking along the route from Chandpol to Ghantaghar. One car and ten two-wheelers were seized as part of the enforcement action. DSP Netrapal Singh outlined that the operation targeted vehicles causing obstruction between Chandpol Gate and Gadiya Devra Marg, as well as Jagdish Chowk and Ghantaghar. Locals and shopkeepers received advisories against road parking during this operation.

New Parking Regulations for Shopkeepers

Starting May 1, shopkeepers are allowed to park their vehicles within designated white lines outside their shops. Any vehicles parked on the road will face penalties. To enforce the new regulations, a traffic policeman will be stationed in the area. Additionally, signage indicating "No Parking Between the Roads" will be installed to ensure compliance with the rules.
