Udaipur, January 15, 2025 - The UDA has officially started the construction of a much-needed flyover at Patel Circle. The project, aimed at easing traffic congestion, will span 515 meters from the PHED office to the Bajaj showroom, with a width of 11.9 meters. The total cost of the flyover is estimated at Rs 42.3 crore, and it is expected to be completed in approximately two years.
Work Already Underway at Key Locations
Construction for the flyover is progressing with the establishment of 12 pillars. Excavation work began on January 9, 2025, with digging initiated at Paras Tri-junction, near Reliance Digital. Additionally, starting Tuesday, January 14, 2025, work also began 100 meters ahead, in front of the Rajasthan Housing Board office. Before starting the excavation, soil samples were collected from both locations and sent for testing to ensure quality.
Relief for Traffic-Stricken Commuters
The flyover is set to ease the daily traffic woes of over 16,000 vehicle drivers who travel from the city towards Balicha. This road also accommodates vehicles from nearby areas such as Sector-14, Goverdhan Vilas, Balicha, Kaya, TD, Kherwada, Dungarpur, Himmatnagar, and even Ahmedabad. The flyover will play a crucial role in reducing congestion at the busy Paras junction.
UDA's Commitment to Completing the Project on Time
UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain has assured that efforts are being made to complete the flyover project swiftly. He emphasized that the timely completion of this flyover will significantly reduce traffic jams, especially during peak tourist seasons and for candidates attending competitive exams in the city.
