Udaipur Police seems to have sprung into action in order to nail down the progressing criminal activities by installing check-posts in all major in and outs of the city. Several unconventional areas of the old city have also been placed under strict scrutiny to eradicate crimes and criminals.

“The check-posts are installed mainly at early hours between 4:30 to 5:00 in the morning. “Most of the people indulging in criminal activity believe that Police security becomes slack in the early morning and find it the best time to enter or leave the city. Thus, we have decided to tighten security around this time,” said Hariprasad Sharma Superintendent of Police.

When asked what the key targets are for this increased vigilance, Sharma said “We want to stop all criminal activities but the emphasis is on liquor smugglers, vehicles without proper registration numbers as well as people transporting illegal arms and weapons in their vehicles.”

“I followed this pattern in every city I have been posted yet. I feel that this practice should not be considered unusual but it should be conducted regularly by Police everywhere” stated Hariprasad Sharma while conversing with UT.

Hopefully, this tactic will help Udaipur Police to eliminate crimes from the city and infuse a sense of security among the common mass.
