The city of lakes with a grand cultural heritage is now set to have a heritage look for its railway station. Beautification work of Udaipur railway station has already begun and the estimated budget for this process is 2 crore rupees.

Lake City Udaipur is frequented by lakhs of tourists every year. The airport has undergone a smart look and now it is the turn of the railway station to don a heritage look. This look will certainly please the tourists. 2 gates are being constructed at the main entrance towards platform 1. These gates will be given a heritage look after which they will appear as magnificent as the gate at the back entry. Public entering the railway station from the front gate will not be troubled by the bright shining sun or rain while walking to the main entry as the entire walkway will be covered. There will also be facilities outside the station so that cleanliness is maintained along with providing comfort to the public. Even the waiting rooms are being renovated for the comfort of the passengers.

The covered walkway will prove to be very comfortable for the passengers as it will be convenient for them to wheel their luggage trolleys. Until now passengers have been lifting their luggage as the broken and uneven road has made it difficult for the luggage to be wheeled. As of now it is a well known fact that the dust due to the ongoing construction is proving to be too uncomfortable for the public, but railway administration has assured some solution will soon be found and the issue will be rectified.
