In recent years, job fairs across the state have aimed to provide employment opportunities for young individuals. While these initiatives have benefited many youths, a concerning trend has emerged in the Udaipur region. Despite comprising over 10% of the state's youth population, Udaipur sees a low number of job fairs, resulting in limited employment opportunities for its youth.
Report Findings
A report from the Joint Director of the Employment Directorate in Jaipur highlights the disparity in job fair organization across the state. Regions such as Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Hanumangarh, and Barmer witness fewer job fair initiatives compared to other areas.
The youth from the Udaipur division contribute over 10% to the state, yet the number of camps in their area is only 7 percent compared to other districts. Additionally, only 4 percent of them have been able to secure employment.
Youth Outreach Challenges
Furthermore, the report underscores the challenge of reaching less than 100 youths in these districts during job fairs. Udaipur and Pratapgarh are particularly highlighted in this regard, indicating a significant gap in outreach efforts.
Regional Disparities in Benefits
While job fairs have proven most beneficial for youths in Alwar, where employment opportunities abound, other districts such as Bharatpur and Jaipur have also witnessed success in connecting youths with job prospects.
