The bandh called by left parties opposing demonetisation passed off without any incident in Udaipur today. Infact the city remained pretty much unaffected by the bandh.

Supporters of the left parties took out rally in different parts of the city and called for establishment shut downs. The shop and business owners however did not respond to the calls making the bandh ineffective.

Supporters of BJP on the other hand took out rallies demanding people not to support the bandh.

The lacklustre respond to the bandh was not a feature of Udaipur alone but was pretty much the case throughout the country.

It may howeever be noted that a set of parties including Congress had said that this was not a bandh-call but only a demonstration against demonetisation and the inconvenience caused to common man.
