Udaipur, Sept 10, 2025: More than 35 people from Udaipur are stranded amid rising violence in Nepal, including BJP leader Anil Singhal and his family.

More than 35 people from Udaipur are stranded amid rising violence in Nepal. BJP leader Anil Singhal and his family are also among them. Bhagwatilal Menaria, who is among the Udaipurians stranded in Nepal, shared his ordeal and said, "We had already visited Lord Pashupatinath, but as soon as we reached the hotel and were preparing for the next plan, we got the news that there was a riot here and it was difficult to get out. For once, we all got scared."

He further said, "In a short time, the atmosphere across Nepal changed. So instead of going out, we thought it better to stay in the hotel itself. We are still here and are in constant touch with the Indian Embassy."

BJP leader Anil Singhal said, "We saw the incidents of demonstrations and fire in front of our eyes.cc". He added that the violence is taking place in close proximity and unless the situation is close to normal, it will not be appropriate for the tourists to leave their accomodation.

Menaria informated that the 31-member team from Udaipur is safe in a hotel in Kathmandu. He said that the group visited Pashupatinath at 8 am on Tuesday and returned to the hotel at 12 noon. In a short period of time thereon, the situation in their locality worsened. The group had reached Nepal from Udaipur via Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj on September 3. As per their itnerary, their plan to return to Udaipur on September 18 via Calcutta, Gangasagar and Bihar. Tourists from Jaipur and Bhilwara are also among those stranded.
