Budget Review Meeting

A review meeting was held at the District Council auditorium in Udaipur. Cabinet Minister for Revenue and Colonization, Hemant Meena, led the meeting, which focused on the progress of the announcements made in the state budget by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.

Minister Meena stressed the need to repair dilapidated buildings, roads, canals, schools, health centers, and bridges damaged by rainfall. He also called for an assessment of crop damage in the region.

District Collector Arvind Poswal instructed officials to follow the minister's directions and ensure timely actions. He noted that the delay in the budget, due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, had left less time for implementation. Collector Poswal urged department officials to work together to complete all tasks on schedule.

The minister expressed dissatisfaction over pending land allocation proposals for several projects. Collector Poswal ordered personal monitoring of the land allocation process, with the goal of speeding up progress. In the meeting it was reported that land had been allocated for 8 out of 15 budget announcements, with work ongoing for the others.

The agriculture department reported crop damage ranging from 2% to 30% across different areas. The minister instructed the district collector to prepare an accurate report on the damage.

MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat raised concerns about the 85% of farmers without insurance. He suggested providing compensation for damaged rice and soybean crops affected by low and excessive rainfall, respectively.

Minister Meena also highlighted the risk of rain-related incidents, as Udaipur's lakes and dams are full, with water flowing over bridges. He urged officials to take precautions to prevent accidents.

The Collector announced the Employment Festival scheduled for September 17, 2024 at Sukhadia Rangmanch Auditorium, where appointed candidates will be honored. In response to water accumulation issues, Collector Poswal instructed the Municipal Corporation and UDA to ensure proper drainage on city roads.
