Residents of Shivnagar Colony area are struggling due to a lack of basic amenities. Despite being labelled a city colony, the conditions here resemble those of a village.
The main issues include poor road conditions, inadequate sewage systems, and insufficient water supply. Multiple complaints have been made to the municipal administration, but no concrete action has been taken.
The unpaved roads have worsened during the recent rains, making travel even more challenging. There are no drains in the area, and attempts to fix the road with soil using a tractor have not been effective.
Elderly residents are having a hard time getting around, and children are finding it difficult to attend school. Many two-wheeler drivers have been involved in accidents. Nighttime travel is particularly difficult.
A written request for resolving these issues was submitted to the municipal administration last August, but the residents have only received assurances in response.
