In the series of smart city ranking based on completion of projects and analysis of proposed works, Udaipur has bagged 7^th position. Udaipur is one of the 98 cities under smart city project.

Nagpur stands on top under smart city ranking. Udaipur is on top in Rajasthan with a score of 133.05 percent. It may be noted that work orders for 920 crore rupees were issued in Udaipur.

Facts reveal that Udaipur needs time to become a smart city. Though tenders have been issued for various works, most of the projects are either lying incomplete or haven’t even started. The ongoing projects are not being supervised efficiently. This is resulting in public getting agitated very often instead of feeling happy with the work being done. Most of the city roads are lying dug up.

All that has happened as a smart city project work is that smart classrooms have been made in KP School, open gym has been installed in Gulab Bagh and heritage conservation works have begun.
