The administration is set to enforce strict measures against complaints of alcohol parties, lunch, and dinner on boats in the middle of the lake organized by hotels.

In a meeting held on July 2,2024, the Lake Conservation and Development Committee, chaired by District Collector Arvind Kumar Poswal, discussed illegal activities in the lakes. The committee decided that boats will only be used for transporting tourists to and from hotels.

Hotels with licenses containing additional conditions will have these rejected during the upcoming renewal.

A new committee will be formed under the leadership of the Executive Engineer to oversee the development of the lakes. This committee will include officials from Municipal Corporation, UDA, Water Resources Department, and Transportation. They will provide suggestions for the lakes development.

Additionally, the annual boat license renewal fee will be increased by 7%, raising it from Rs 100/-to Rs 107/-.
