Water of Fateh Sagar has started falling rapidly.

Udaipur city’s temperature dropped by 1.4 degrees to 41 degrees in 24 hours on Sunday May 14, 2023. The minimum temperature reached 24 degrees with an increase of 0.7 degrees and night was also heated. According to the Meteorological Department, Western disturbance has become active in the state. Its effects will remain in the city till 16 May.

Due to extreme heat conditions, there was not much footfall in the major markets of Wall City including Ashwini Bazar, Bapu Bazar, Delhi Gate, Surajpole despite it being a holiday. Fatehsagar, Dudhtalai and Pichola also saw footfall after 6:00 pm. The Meteorological Department has issued yellow alerts for other districts of the state except the districts of the division including Udaipur.

The water of Fateh Sagar lake, which quenches the thirst of more than 50 thousand people of the city, has started falling rapidly. There is only 6 feet water remaining in the lake with 13 feet storage capacity. PHED is lifting 14 MLD water from it daily.

In this case, the Department has now started preparations to bring water from Badi Lake as an alternative. The testing of the line connected to Badi was done on Sunday which contains 30 feet of water.
