Udaipur, March 20, 2025 - Ritika V Sood of Udaipur has set an outstanding example of courage and grit by completing the Everest Base Camp trek without a guide. She was accompanied on this historic journey by Siddharth Verma, Nidhi Ahuja and Mayuri Verma.

Ritika travelled from London for the 15-day trek and successfully reached the Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,364 metres on March 11. It was a challenging journey but she managed to complete it. Typically, Everest Base Camp trekkers rely on guides and porters but Ritika accomplished the difficult trek without a guide. She planned the entire trip herself, using online resources, blogs of experienced trekkers and videos for guidance.

On her journey, Ritika faced temperatures below minus 15 degrees, oxygen shortage, snowstorms  and treacherous paths but she continued undeterred.

The climber received a warm welcome upon her return to Udaipur from the Consumer Protection Organisation, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Red Cross Society and resident doctors from RNT Medical College who congratulated her. Also present on this occasion were former District BJP president of Rural, Chandragupt Singh Chouhan, State spokesperson of the Consumer Protection Organisation, Pradeep Rawani, president Praveen Nahar and others.
