Virtual High Court benches are set to be established in 10 locations across India, including three places in Rajasthan: Udaipur, Kota, and Bikaner. The advocates and the public of the Mewar Vagad region have successfully campaigned for the establishment of a virtual High Court Bench in Udaipur.
On August 23, 2023, a delegation from the Bar Association of Udaipur had a meeting with Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. During the meeting, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal provided strong assurance that Virtual High Court benches would indeed be set up in 10 locations across India. This initiative includes the establishment of three benches in Rajasthan: Udaipur, Kota, and Bikaner.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal stated that he plans to make an official announcement soon after discussing the matter with the Chief Justice of India. He emphasized that given the economic and social conditions of Udaipur, establishing a Virtual High Court Bench there serves the public interest. It is imperative to expedite the launch of a Virtual High Court in Udaipur.
