Women play a vital role in our society. From the world of sports to entertainment and from politics to the military and defense ministry, women are not only involved but occupy major roles. The purpose of celebrating International Women's Day is to increase female involvement and raise awareness of women's rights. This time, on March 8 in Jhadol, Udaipur, the District Collector will begin a women's hockey competition to highlight the talent of women in celebration of International Women's Day. Women will be spotted in the field holding hockey in their hands thanks to the collector's vision. As per the District Collector’s direction, preparations are proceeding as planned.
District Sports Officer Shakeel Hussain said that as per the instructions of District Collector Tarachand Meena, to encourage women of the district and rural areas and to connect them with sports, women's hockey competition from March 8 to March 10, 2023 will be held, on the occasion of International Women's Day.
The hockey competition will be held in 20 blocks of Udaipur. It will not only be held in urban areas but also it will take place in rural areas of Kotra, Jhadol and Phalasiya. This will benefit the women of rural areas the most and will get a chance to showcase their skills. More than 400 women are expected to play in it. This time the hockey competition will be organized at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Jhadol. All expenditure of accommodation, travel, food, sports kit, will be spent by the District Administration.
