Udaipur, March 12, 2025 - This year 12000 Udaipur women have created 10 tons of herbal gulal by collecting flowers from forests and making colours and selling them in markets. This herbal gulal is not only being used locally but is also reaching cities like Jaipur, Alwar, and Ahmedabad. The production is being handled by Rajeevika and Udaipur Forest Department.

Many resorts and hotels are also purchasing it. The profits from the sales will be distributed among the women’s groups. Rajeevika has set up 39 production centres this year. 100-Gram packets are available for Rs 30/- each. This gulal is also being supplied to panchayats and government departments.

Support from Government Scheme
D.C. Meena, the district advisor for Rajeevika’s Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Vikas Yojana (PMVDVY), said that after covering costs, 10% of the earnings are given to the women. There are currently 137 Rajeevika centers in Udaipur district, supporting more women in making herbal gulal.
